The Journey

The Journey

In Danielle's words:

From Danielle's Words:

"These were some of the last photos taken before our lives changed forever. Before we ever leaned into the “in sickness and in health” part of our vows, before we prayed without ceasing together, before we saw the Lord work in the most unbelievable ways each day, before we knew how to be confident in Him without medical answers, before we knew how to trust without a plan, before we knew what peace that surpasses all understanding truly felt like, and before we knew just how many friends and family members would lift us up in prayer and plead with the Lord on our behalf!
Cancer isn’t a diagnosis you ever plan to hear, especially at 30 years old with a two year old and a 7 month old. When the doctor tells you they’re still running tests to know the details, but they do know it’s rare and aggressive, fear, worry, anxiety, nervousness, sadness, and impatience, are all very normal feelings during a time like this. But you know what isn’t normal? God’s peace! It’s truly a peace that surpasses all understanding that doesn’t make sense to the human mind or body. It’s a peace that allows perspective, gratitude, love, hope, and joy during a time of unknowns. From God’s peace, I have felt safe. Thank you Jesus for being the type of Father that we can feel safe with. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to do hard things, in hopes to honor you and glorify your name through this process and the rest of our days.
So as I look at these pictures, I don’t see “before cancer”, I see “before we knew how God was going to move in our lives in the most miraculous ways and use something so big for so much good”.
John 11:4 When Jesus heard it, he said “This sickness will not end in death but is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”
